I have only a small interest in those activities. My real interest is in understanding what causes things. Like tides.
Our model is not just better than your model. Our model actually works. Your model doesn't even try.
===
But no model is perfect, including ours. So I am open to an alternate model that can out perform the one we have now. That seems to be an interest area of yours, so if you ever come up with one let me know.

LB, As you know I don't like models so why would you think anything like a model would ever come from me? The model you have is far from perfect as we know but why do you want a better one? This is a bit more involved than it seems or maybe you just have too much time on your hands. Can you just accept things as they are and get off my cloud?

Hmmm. That would be the nice thing to do, I suppose. But no. Not for while.
(Don't worry, I'll eventually get tired.)

I didn't say I wanted a better model. I said I was open to a better one. Another nit? Hmmm. Yeah, I guess. Deal with it.
You might consider reading things a little more carefully. Or think about what you read a little more carefully. Of course, I AM being hyper critical of your ideas right now. So things that I would normally just ignore - are not being ignored.

Where did you get the idea that your proposal is not a model?
It's obviously not a good model. In fact, it is a very lame model. But any attempt to explain the cause of something, or to describe how it works or what it does, is a model. Duh.

LB, I don't mind your critical observations when they are focused on the topic. If as you say you want a better model I would only say it is like wanting a better watch. Big Ben may not keep time as well as an electronic marvel but as a model of the art I take Big Ben. The same thing for tide models-Newton is best.
