I'm waiting.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
I would suspect that this "Nothing" is actually "EVERYTHING" that; is, was, or can ever be.

You got my point.

While it is difficult to envision and impossible (currently to justify or prove) that fact is that (+1-1 = 0) and (+100-100 = 0), that is mathematically there are an infinite number of possibities for opposite pairs (+/-) to be formed from "0". We don't have a good explanation for that but compared to saying:

"Something has always existed, therefore was never created"

Is in of itself an oxymoron in conflict with itself and cannot be successfully argued as being reality.

If it exists it had to have been created, even if you "attempt" to extend when it was created to an infinite length of time before.

Perhaps then you could "attempt" an explaination as to how "0" was created? Seems to me that it just exists, always existed, will always exist, wasn't created, and can't disappear. <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>

Come on Mac, take a stab at it.<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>

I don't agree with this at all. If you are going to use the number line as an analogy then think of the causal links as integer marks along the line. You can point to any individual link and then point to the link that preceded it but it would be false to then conclude that the number line must have a beginning(or an end). The argument "if it exists it had to have been created" only applies to specific events, not when you attempt to apply it to the whole continuum. And as for coming into existence, no one has ever observed anything coming into existence. We observe matter moving around and transforming from one shape to another but not coming into existence.

Exactly, where did the numberline come from? Was it there the whole time? Do numbers exist?

Interesting since we just observed you coming into this thread out of nowhere. Oh yeah, you already existed...But wait, you had a beginning. Darn it now, I confused myself again.<img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>
