I hope my point was not lost in that jumbled writing (editing posts is not an option here): the position that "existence has no beginning and no end" is a violation of cause and effect since the assumption is that existence has no cause. It seems what follows then is that conservation and the laws of thermodynamcs do not exist in our universe.

Sure it is. I can't edit YOUR post, but I can (and do) edit my own all the time.

There is an icon at the top of each of your posts that only you can see.

LB

Weird, I don't see an "edit" icon anywhere. No big deal.

quote:
(TVF)Reason allows no option but that the universe has always existed and always will exist...

Seekers of nature's secrets must ask questions of nature, not give orders about how she must work. You may have some religious reason for believing that things can be created from nothing, but my reasoning about physical principles tells me otherwise.

I'm not really sure that the way you make your claims are any different then the way 123... makes their claims. 123.. says "there was a beginning" but has no proof and TVF says "it has always been" but has no proof, yet you continue to argue. I don't think something can come from nothing so I find that TVF's view is more favorable however, I think it is inaccurate.

TVF says the universe has always existed but he hasn't and doesn't define "universe". It seems as though he may be using the term "universe" loosly, such as he has done in using the term "infinity", simply to allow for confusion.

I'll throw my two cents in. Since nobody can prove their view here that makes speculation pretty easy.

I speculate that what we call the universe came into existance from nothing. But nothing is actually two opposites when combined negative and don't exist. Just as we are splitting the Chiral Condensate, which we don't see or feel exists, is there and this "Nothing" is actually very much something.

I'm waiting.
