I don't like the idea of a monopole but it does make for a good story or theory. The experiments are valid and the theory can be whatever you like.

I sent an e-mail to the addess posted at the experiment site and I got a notice that the address is not real. That causes me to wonder if the paper is reliable. Do you know how the author can be contacted about using other materials for the foil?

The email link on the newer Russian version says sergeysmr@mail.ru which is the same one. I'm trying to find a valid email for you.

Jim,

The best I could get is recom@hotmail.ru . There's also some basic site seemingly related to the group www.recom.hotmail.ru/Public.htm , some items there are in English.

Don't know if this will help but this links to the Russian Academy of Sciences -

- where there's a link to the article plus an abstract and forum for discussion of the paper.

My questions to TVF and others familiar with his models:

1. Which logic should not be contradicted? Aristotelean Logic? If yes, it should be noted that it is an Axiomatic logic. No proofs.

2. What's the connection of logic with Physical reality? Isn't a generally accepted view that Logic deals with language only?

3. What about Anticipatory systems, i.e. systems whose output at time t depends on future values of their input? Do they violate causality as presented by TVF. Do you reject their existence?

[re: 1] Yes, axiomatic logic lacks proofs, but where are proofs anymore in the quantum world? We must deal with quantum effects, if we hope to mirror human understanding with reality. And, in this, we have no other choice, it seems; else, take up rice farming here in my Japan.

Reason does not abandon us, but leaves us with a solid avenue in mathematics.

[re: 2] The notion that "logic deals with language only" is begging the question of the role of language. By itself, language precedes all of our thought processes, and has created the structure of those processes. Again, we are left with no other choice.

[re: 3] Anticipatory systems would fit right in with a fractal view of the operations of nature, correlating quantum effects with instinctive behavior.

The predictability of complex systems remains the pursuit of science, and that is precicely addressed by chaos thoery in the observable universe (a fractal view of all things), and quantum physics (beyond the borders of observability).
