Oh. OK.

Well, let us know what you find out.

PS - You know, Jim, I've never understood what your point is. Still don't. I'm sure there are plenty of problems where f = ma gets you to a better answer with less effort than E = mc^2. So what?

But my point is, if you are going to come to this message board and state a conclusion (for example, "f = ma is more useful than E = mc^2") over and over, we are going to expect you to be able to say *why*.

Sooner or later.

PPS - In a way it seems like you are actually asking the question "Can f = ma be more useful than E = mc^2?"

If so, the answer is "For some problems, yes."

LB, My point is that c^2 is not an absolute number as is and has been the asumption. Everything is forced to fit that and therefore is distorted to suit-everything.

[Larry] -Yeah, I know what you mean. If only we had some other equations to play with. Perhaps one of them would be able to explain particle paths or conservation of momentum.-

Larry,

Do you mean a particle spiralling to a stop is conservation of momentum ?

Do you mean the spiral of stars towards the center of a galaxy as conservation of momentum ?

Or do you mean the degeneracy over time of the atoms in our own bodies ?

The fact that you have so many equations to play with, does this mean they are correct? Or is this preventing you from getting the right picture?

I do not take for granted what is being taught in schools.

GD,

I can't help it. Sometimes it just jumps out and gets all over me. Spiral galaxy.
