If martians were artists- just like artists on earth- their work can never compare to earthly pareidolia. Makes this planet seem almost nice.
How many of these people read this entire topic on Pareidolia from beginning to end before you introduced them to your images? My guess is that these people you showed know little if anything about pareidolia also. Rd

Conversely, what I am describing here are anomalies and artifacts which are possibly alien in origin on the Martian surface. No problem....it's that simple.
rd- i like Alexander Boe's photographs but they don't fit my definition of pareidolia in that they are not totally formed without man's work.

Malcolm, you didn't answer my question: What was covered up (re: The 42 ft statue?)

In order for us to further the dialogue, it's important that we answer each other's questions. Otherwise we tend to talk past each other.
Malcolm, it was Neil who mentioned the Jinns in reference to the small heads popping out of other heads and such. I can only assume he was referring to the "Jinni" or "Genie" of Arabic and Islamic lore.

rd

Yes, I'm quite familiar with this historical background and the many examples of artwork from the time period depicting these entities. Interestingly, it was supposedly King Soloman that held the knowledge and the ability to manifest these so called Jinns by means of utilizing the so-named "Ancient Egyptian Seal of Solomon". In the image below, we see an unknown Arabic work of art from the late fourteenth century.

Although adapted later into the Jewish faith, the "star of David" is seen here in this Arabic mural with deep undertones of esoteric interpretations. The six pointed version of a pentagram is also referred to in ancient lore as the mark of Saturn of later "Satan" in the symbol 666. In the image below, (the clip was taken from the huge plains of the Melas region ESP_013838_1695 where many of these Jinns or manifestations are located) we see another example of a "head" with a "look once more" or "double take" optical illusion. The head here has an amusing sense of "Groucho Marx" with thick rimmed black glasses thus is created for the means to capture the "Human eye" as the eye passes over the illusion - very clever!

This time the message is clear with the numbers 666 prominently displayed. Two of the 6's are quite visible but you will need to look closer to find the third...but it's there and tipped on it's side at the point of the arrow.

In the two images directly below, we can just make out the manifestation of a huge Jinn some 20 meters high being produced and at closer magnification, we can just make out the "heads within heads" that Neil was possibly referring to. This region as you can see here quite clearly, is surrounded by some awesome structures that interweave throughout the undulating topography. These "architectural designs" of scaffold-like buildings where pipes and conduits mesh in abundance.

Take some time to magnify as close as you can here just before the red/cyan spectrum departs from the horizontal view of your monitor. It's a fantastic sight with much going on showing the sheer depth of the "city complex". Let me know if there is a call for a closer magnification as I can produce a "close range" anaglyph where the red/cyan fields are rendered not to far apart.
As a word of advice here, it's important when evaluating these images to try to adjust one's visual mind "INTO" the 3D mode. This way, you will be able to grasp the huge dimensionality of these Alien phenomenons.

At this point, we are along way down the rabbit hole as the story starts to take shape. From this point, I propose we refer to these surface manifestations as "JINNS" consistent with Neil's definition as I feel quite certain, indeed predict that as the Alien life profile begins to unfold on Mars, we will be seeing much more of these phenomenons.

Now...where did I put my re-run copies of "I dream of Jeanie"!

This is a photo taken by Alexander Boe in an area near his house. It's in an area where the rock has been blasted to make way for a road. He reported that he only saw the image when the street lights were on at night, and when he walks by during the day it tends to disappear. It was not deliberately made by someone, and therefore is a good example of pareidolia (modern/derosa).

A perfect example of pareidolia! Let's keep focused on these images of "earthbound shots" that way, you may have something with all this paredolia stuff!
