I thought about that when I set up the group. A page is more of a broadcast medium. People "like" it and then they get posts in their news feed. But they don't usually go and post there themselves. The admins do all the posting. A group, however, is for everyone to post. Really there ought to be both. But a page should be done by someone not only with knowledge and authority of the Meta Model, but who has a rightful claim to speak on behalf of Tom's work. That's not me. Larry maybe?
For now, let's see how many people we can get to join the group and post stuff.
