What if the Romans believed in the hollow earth theory, would that be a valid argument?

[kao] "To everyone who thought I was Putting down the hollow earth theory ... of the people who have responded to my post so far, NONE of you could tell that I SUPPORT the theory."
I hate to pop your bubble, but as near as I can tell everyone who posted was well aware that you were supporting the hollow planet theory. It seems very obvious from your post, and the replies seem consistent with a recognition of that support. And with one very minor exception the negative comments they made were aimed at the idea of hollow planets, not at you. (BTW, your last post got a little personal as well. But since you didn't aim it at a specific individual it kind of falls through the cracks. I second Mark's request that ALL OF US avoid commenting about people and stick to comments about their ideas.)
I can only speak with authority for myself of course (I might be misreading some of the other poster's comments). But I certainly had no problem telling that you were a supporter.

I have always recommended spending the posting time all of us contribute into making compelling arguments. A wise man once said never raise your voice when you should reinforce your argument. For the record, the hollow earth theory is a viable one. Testing it would be cool and would hopefully not destroy the planet. Mark

Thanks Mark
Your latest remarks were probably the closest to the topic so far.
It would be nice though to have a theory presented before we do any experiment that could endanger the earth.

I have had a long term debate with a geologist friend over hollow earth. He always falls back on earthquake seismology as a proof for solid earth. Any theory on the density the gaseous materials surrounding the core? Do we think the layers go: Crust, Gas, Core. In the exploding planet hypothesis, the core is composed of iron that shifted to the core due to the extreme heat of the planet. What about that mass of iron and nickel compressing hydrogen and inducing some type of low-grade thermonuclear burn? What do you think? Mark Vitrone
