Earth's magnetic field is puny compared to that of the Sun or Jupiter. Yet even those giant magnetic fields are too weak to affect anything except charged particles in their immediate vicinity. Earth's magnetic field influence does not extend beyond the Van Allen belts, and its strength is about the same as here on Earth's surface, which is to say it is negligible for most practical purposes. -|Tom|-
