I have often reflected upon Jrich's 10 April Post anxieties because of an amazing double coincidence: is a North American AND North America happens to be the only continent fully within my ebook's THESHI'd Impact Hemisphere (IH). THESHI stands for "This [My] Ebook's Super Huge Impact".

These reflections have brought home to me the inevitability of anxieties like JR's, the consequent necessity of globalism, global law and order and so on.

Just as the world needed agreements restricting military use of Earth satellites during the Cold War, so in the future there will need to be international control of all monitoring and messing around with the orbits of asteroids, including economic prevention of further huge, super huge impacts, assuming humankind continues to increase its ability and need to do such monitoring and deflection.

I precisely defined and confirmed the IH BOundary (IHBO) in Volume 1, without any revision since then, 2000. Besides North America, IH comprises Arctic and Pacific Oceans, NE Asia, halves of Australia, South America and the North Atlantic Ocean.

JR's being a North American (of the New World) is tellingly consistent with my Volume 5, paper 5.1: "An important corroboration of my meta-geology: Strong, simple, easily explained correlations with original (~500 year old) distributions of so-called White, Yellow, Black races; Old World, New World, Original World and so on. The ultimate cause of these distributions, and similar global distributions of more immediate human characteristics is thus evidently meta-geological . . ."

Those Russian scientists are probably right when they suggest at
www.spacedaily.com/reports/Deflecting_As...lt_But_Possible.html "using the kinetic energy of asteroids in order to destroy them. This can be accomplished by creating an artificial dust cloud in the asteroid's path. That cloud's particles would interact with the asteroid surface and gouge craters."

"The dangerous object would finally disintegrate because the mass of crater particles would be directly proportional to the kinetic energy of colliding bodies."

This is convincing because they go on to point out that "the Deep Impact spacecraft, a copper ball, 65 centimeters (about 3 feet) in diameter and weighing 140 kilograms (300 pounds) hit the comet Tempel 1, an object with a radius of 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) and carved a 200 meter crater" which that other article says "released about 250,000 tons of water"!
