Sorry Mac, but this is not a reactionless drive. Reaction mass (from the air) is an integral part of its opeation. A fan with no moving parts is cool, but it is not what I'm looking for.
The micro- to milli- Newton forces reported in this quote are most likely from the residual atmosphere in the vacuum chanber.
As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY reference to in-vacuum testing on the site, and it looks pretty conclusive to me. If you know of other references to vacuum tests that show undimenished performance, please let me know.
Guess I get to keep that nickle. Dang.

Glad to lose the nickle. I've seen other references to the Air France tests which simple sate that it functioned (flew) in the vacuum chamber. No details on performance. While it may or may not ultimately be considered an inertial drive, TTB's fatal flaw was that he was a believer in UFO's and frequently proclaimed to have discovered there propullsion source.
He was shunned by the scientific community because nobody wanted to get in his boat until after his death. His work is now undergoing a renewed interest and testing.
I personally think the jury is still out on this one so lets put the nickle into escrow.

Most people in the technical professions won't give the time of day to "cranks", and often use any pretext (such as a totally unrelated oddity) to place someone in the crank category.
I will usually spend a little time looking into something I've not seen before, but over the years I've learned how to tune my BS detector so it doesn't take me long to evaluate the new thing. I don't care if the guy is crazy as a loon - what I want to know is, does his <b>gizmo</b> work. For reationless thrusters this means: does it pass the Pendulum Test. Period, end of story. Nothing else matters.
NO DEVICE IN EXISTANCE has done so to date. Some claim their device has, but can't or won't show any evidence that the claim is true.
If you hear of anything that seems to change this situation (ie actual test results), please bring it up.

Most other engineers object to the lack of mathematical substantiation presented by Brown. To engineers and scientists one equation is worth a thousand words! But even an equation is of little use unless it has values assigned to at least some of its main parts. When these were not forthcoming, from a technical point of view, it appeared Brown was walking on straw legs.

Then recently Brown went to France. Under what was virtually a French Government sponsored program of research, Air-France successfully flew some of the Brown discs in a HIGH VACUUM!
And that took all the "electric wind" out of the previously dissenting sails1 These tests were of a highly secret nature and, because of this, and, because they were made in a foreign nation, their results REMAIN CLASSIFIED.
One by one, U.S. engineering and scientific heads are beginning to show above the storm cellars. It is now quietly admitted that perhaps Brown may have something after all!
One thing he DOES have which he has not had before is a sponsor! Perhaps that is the reason for the heads showing from the cellars. There is nothing quite like having financial backing.
What do Brown's inventions mean? Another kind, type, or arrangement of high-speed flight, both within our own atmosphere and in the space beyond it!
