Difference in gravity between night and day

Most of us (people with enough training and experience to be recognized as a "scientist" by at least some other scientists) have actually seen data like this at some point in our training or in our work.

I didn't deny ever seeing it. I said I wasn't relying on it. By that, I mean that I'm not working with raw observational data. Nor am I working with filtered/processed observational data. I'm working from the reasoning and conclusions of people that have taken that data and "added value" to in various ways.

The value that they have added does in fact hide some detail. And there is in fact the possibility that it also hides some errors. Errors of calculation, or even error of logic. It is also possible that some errors have survived the review process.

But if there are errors in there, they are small and subtile. We couldn't do Cassini or the Rovers if it were otherwise.

===

Given your skepticism about the ability of others to do a competent job of data reduction, why would you trust the observations of others? Shouldn't your first goal be to make "known accurate" observations?

IOW, collect your own raw data?

<br />You say data is avalable and I only want to know where it is. Why do you guys always say data exists and then deny ever seeing it?

If you really want raw gravimetric data, you might try the 'Live Internet Seismic Server' at

www.liss.org/

You can filter the data to show only the long period gravimetric effects such as the sun, moon, etc. Let me know if you can detect the ISS going overhead ;)

Good luck.

Ok, who put "Uninflamable" signs on gasoline tanker trucks?

I have no problem with the ability of others to translate data into a language we all understand. The problem is as you said prior to this latest change is the data is not there or so it seems despite your unkind latest outburst reguarding my efforts.

Youjaes, I looked into the site you suggested and found earthquake data that I could never read just as I can't read Chinese.

Dr. Van Flandern has given you references for data in the past. Was that data not what you were looking for?

The data you are refering to now is not geo data. I know gravity is measured all over the world by geologists not astromomers and there is nothing in that data about a solar gravity constant as far as I know. However, as you pointed out in a prior my ignorance is nearly boundless so it may be there-I just don't know and wish I did.
