> [Jim]: A while back it was said planets radiate more energy than they receive from the sun. Is there any data source for each planet's income/outgo energy budget?

As it happens, I published just such a table of excess heat from five planets plus the Moon. You can find it on p. 113 in my contributed chapter titled “Gravity” in the new book Pushing Gravity: New Perspectives on Le Sage's Theory of Gravitation, M. Edwards, ed., Apeiron Press, Montreal, 93-122 (2002). Probably, the major contributor to this heat excess for Jupiter is meteors. However, for all six of these bodies, one component of the excess may well be graviton heating. -|Tom|-

Very interesting info I'll look it up and get back to you about the cause of this effect. I do not aggree at all with the current thinking about what causes this "extra" heat flux of spherical bodies. The cause in my opinion is unknown properties of matter that manifest in great amounts of heat when confined within a body. This is related to how a proton emmits a photon also unknown for the most part.
