If sal****er means salt water, I partly agree. But, it does not seem to me that the plants which are able to grow in sea water are able to give big crops (the mangroves grow in regions where sea water is mixed with rain water). It may be dangerous to salt wide countries.

The main problem is political. We may have a dream: the UN should be allowed to put increasing taxes on coal and oil, so that their use become less and less difficult, even impossible in 2050. It would give much money to help the poor countries ...

" ...sal****er ... " Hmmm.

The du-du filter on this messageboard software is downright funny sometimes. The letters "t w a t" by themselves are a reasonable catch, but for a filter to block them from the middle of a word is, well, silly.

On the optimistic side of things, it seems that we have just about mastered AS (artificial stupidity). And that is a necessary precursor to mastering AI.

JMB, The growth rate of plants grown in sal****er may be slow because something is missing in the diet the plants need to grow with gusto. I know plants don't grow in the ocean at this time due to an iron supply which is lacking but in the past there was a lot of iron in the ocean-so? I would hire someone that knows about plants to research this if the funds to grow biomass ever get approved. And, of course, you need someone to run the farm too. Its a big job but well worth the work involved when you consider the fact that every acre can produce enough biomass to make ~60 barrels of oil per year. Thats more money than is made from converting corn into ethanol.

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">You are suggesting that the UN be given the power of taxation. Seems a bit political to me but it did get past the moderator so maybe it's a new model of Special Relativity. Sounds like a good idea to me.

We don't always catch these things. I stopped on the salt water thing and never got back to the rest of the post. But since you mentioned it ...

Ahem - JMB, if you want to discuss the political side of things please find a more appropriate board. It's interesting stuff, but off topic here.

Thanks,
