Cydonia and Geologically Ancient Civilizations

An interesting topic. According to some researchers ancient Sumer may have been home to just such advanced society as recently as 6,000- 10,000 BC. in the approx. area of what is now Iran.

There is an ancient monolithic "face" in this area which possibly dates back to the time of Sumer. The structure of this face is somewhat similar to the Face on Mars, especially the base area.

I can't help but wonder if both faces are an expression of the same cultural influences.

Also, according to Sitchen's translations of the Sumerian tablets the story of the Sumerians is told up until a time when an "evil wind" blew across the land and resulted in much suffering and mass death of the civilization. There are also references to present day elevated readings of radiation in the area as well as the excavation of sand that had been turned to layers of glass possibly suggesting an atomic explosion sometime in antiquity.

And then there are the biblical references in the old testament that might point to an atomic explosion in this area, the story of Lot and his wife and their flight from Sodom and Gommorah.

Fascinating stuff. I think this is another view of the mound

I must confess I don't see a face in the photograph, but the similarities with the Cydonian mesa are noteworthy. Is the terracing to any extent artificial? Also, the caption suggests that a city may have existed on this particular feature, but I've not been able to find any detail as yet.

Also of interest from a GAC viewpoint is the 120 million year old stone slab uncovered in the Urals. Sorry if this is old news, but I'm quoting an article below -

The Creator's Map (Itogi)
A map dating back to 120 million years ago may change our
understanding of the history of mankind

A 120-million-year-old stone slab found by scientists in Bashkiria features a map showing an area of the Urals. This
conflicts with what we know about the history of mankind.

It might seem incredible that scientists at Bashkiria State University have found conclusive evidence of the existence of a highly developed civilization millions of years ago. Scientists found a large stone slab in 1999 that features an relief map of terrain like those that the military has. The map shows canals stretching for 12,000 kilometers and enormous dams. There are rhombs close to the canals, but what they mean is unclear. And there are also many inscriptions looking like hieroglyphs. At first it was thought they represented an ancient Chinese language, but it was established later that was not the case. Scientists cannot yet decipher the meaning of the hieroglyphs.

"At first we did not even imagine that the map could have been that old. Fortunately, the changes that the Bashkirian terrain has undergone over millions of years have not been all that great. The height of Ufa is easily identifiable on the map." Chuvyrov says geological hunting has revealed a trace of the Ufa Canyon in keeping with the map. That is the main piece of evidence demonstrating that the map is, in fact, a map of the area.

As a physicist, Chuvyrov believes only in facts coming from research, and here are the facts. The slab consists of three layers. Solid dolomite forms its 14 cm base. The second layer is the most interesting - it is "made" of diopside glass. That is where the map is actually situated. A 2 mm layer consists of calcium porcelain protects the map from damage. Dr. Chuvyrov notes that the map was not carved by hand. X-rays show that high-precision mechanisms were used to work the stone.

Two shells were found on the slab's surface. The age of one of them - a Navicopsina munitus of the Gyrodeidae family - is 50 million years. The other (Ecculiomphalus princeps of the Ecculiomphalinae family) is 120 million years old. Scientists assume the second is the correct age. Original estimates put the slab's age at 3,000 years, but when the shells encrusted into the map were found, it was assumed that the slab was much, much older.

Always keeping an open mind, I guess there's the possibility of errors in dating, the shaky track record of stories coming in from this region or just another plain old case of Piltdown Man #2, but it certainly bears consideration from a GAC viewpoint, I suppose because that's my particular hobby horse - the "Face" on Mars has always struck me, if anything, as being more saurian than human!

Atko,

Thank you for posting that image. I had not seen that view before. As to it not looking face-like, are you referring to the lighter-colored mound in the foreground which I believe is the city mound.

The face TEPE must be the one beyond it, viewed in profile in this image.

I was thinking of the Tepe (which literally translated, means "mound" just to confuse things!). Can't really see anything that looks like a face, although the general similarities to the Cydonian feature are striking. As far as I've been able to assertain, it is artificial, and was originally a city mound. I'm not sure of the age - circa 800 - 5000BC, not been able to dig up anything precise due to a scarcity of data. Apparantly there is a flat-topped pyramid associated with this feature, but I've not been able to locate a picture yet. There are a wealth of aerial photographs of the Persepolis region in a thumbnail archive, of which this is part, at -

The ones we were discussing are at Page 7, although much of this photography - from the 1930's - is a useful aid when analysing the Cydonia pictures.

The area of ancient Sumer /
Babylon is full of fascinating artifacts. I have not seen an image of the pyramid that was mentioned but would be very interested in finding out it's geometric alignment in relation to the Iran "face".

The subject of pyramids is deeply interesting. I recently read an account of an English pilot who lost his bearings during WW2 and lost, ended up flying over a remote and mountanous part of China. He related seeing a huge pyramid, encased in white stone glittering in the sun.
The top of the pyramid was formed from what appeared to be crystal.

I have read Christopher Dunn's brilliant book, The Giza Power Plant in which he makes a very strong case for the pyramid being an energy generating device using very advanced technology combining inducted energy, harmonics, sonic technology and gas to produce powerful microwaves.

I just finished a second book which builds and expands on Dunn's ideas (can't remember exact title at the moment) in which the author writes of ancient accounts of the pyramid wars.

According to these accounts the pyramid was a feared and hated weapon of mass destruction which held the world in absolute terror. The victor of the last pyramid war allegedly decided to dismantle the inner workings of the great pyramid so the world would never again be terrorized by it's awesome destructive power. The dismantling of the inner workings is described as the removal of a good number of huge crystals of various types. Some were smashed and destroyed others were put on display.

According to the author's calculations the pyramid was harmomicaly designed to induct energy from several sources with the resulting energy being powerful enough to destroy any target on Earth or in our solar system.

Sounds like Tesla technology.

There was a National Geographic special on the pyramids the other night in which they presented the view that the pyramid was a tomb. This idea seems completely ridiculous and antiquated in view of the information presented in Dunn's book.

Sometimes it seems like the stuff on the science channel is a couple of decades behind emerging knowledge.
