The binding forces of strong electrogravitational fields around black holes may cause other relativistic effects that we are currently not aware of which could result in light acting like a solid in a rigid spacial relationship. This rigidity would do away with lensing because of the great time dilating forces inside of the spherical field of the black hole, and the light would disappear and then reappear on the other side of the field.

Black Holes may operate outside of our local relativity, and lensing would only pertain to fields around normal matter.

Or, perhaps the entity "Black Hole" is a mathematical construct only. The concept of "singularity" associated with both black holes and big bangs has no analogue in anyone's experience (nb. disproof is a foregone impossibility: it is a simple exercise of postulating a singularity, then referring to said singularity to explain the absence of any direct data confirming the existence of singularities).

Do we have a total lack of lensing here, or is there lensing but not what one would expect?

Stoat, I agree there is lensing but not what we would expect. All balanced states of mass in motion have relationships that would if we could stand back far enough appear "spooky at a distance" because of the various layering of time domain fields. Spacial Rigid States exist in a balance between scale wide charge separations, you move one side of the universe scale and the other side moves as if it is a solid.

The lensing in this extreme case of the super dilated time domain of a black hole field literally would bend the light in a complete circle and back to its normal position again. The reason that black holes exist is because of scale wide opposing field rotations attempting to collapse back to zero.

"...The mass of the galactic center was determined using time resolved astrometry over a time span of 13 years, from 1992 to present. The observations clearly show that the stars in the immediate vicinity of the supermassive galactic center, denoted as Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*), move along purely Keplerian orbits around Sgr A*. Observation of the rapidly moving stars permitted astrophysicists to determine a mass for the galactic center of around 3.6 million solar masses. Time resolved images of the Keplerian motions of these stars has exhibited to date no evidence of distortions in the images due to gravitational light bending effects, as predicted by General Relativity. ..."

Elsewhere on this messageboard, I've argued that neither the red- and blueshifts attributed to stellar "radial velocity" nor the apparent position change attributed to stellar "proper motion", are due to actual stellar motion. I argued that these are due instead to waves in the intervening ether.

Likewise apparent position changes ("astrometry") and also red/blueshifts near Sgr A*, reveal only the activity of the ether, not true Keplerian motion. The 3.6 million solar masses there are fictitious. That's why "no...gravitational light bending" is seen.
